School Start Date

On Monday this week, the Secretary for Education took the decision to direct schools and other education providers in Auckland to close for on-site instruction because of the weather emergency and the need to reduce traffic on roads.

The Secretary for Education, Iona Holsted, undertook to review the decision to close to minimise disruption to schools that can open. Today at 12pm, the Secretary lifted the direction to close.

Having considered this and in discussion with the Board of Trustees, we have decided to open as previously communicated on Tuesday 7th of February (the day after Waitangi day), so that our staff and community can arrange their personal circumstances affected by the floods. This enables staff to come into school and prepare for the year, which had to be changed due to the directive from the Secretary of Education. It also ensures all staff are on-site for the first day of school and aligns with our local Primary schools.

Classroom teachers will send an email on Friday introducing themselves as well as providing an overview of the term, to ensure we are hitting the ground running.

Our school office will be open for those who need to purchase a stationary pack (both Year 7 and 8 students) between 9am-1pm on Friday 3rd February.

Please contact the school office (office@pasadena.school.nz) if you have any questions.

We look forward to welcoming everyone at 8am for our school pōwhiri on Tuesday 7th February with school starting at 9am.
