Performing ARTS TEacher

Dia Dhuit, Kia Ora, Greetings,

My name is Maureen Donnelly and although a 5th generation New Zealander, my family, like my name, have their origins in the Emerald Isle.

Born and raised in Auckland, I have lived in various parts of NZ, and worked in several areas, including as a computer programmer, and haematology technician, prior to becoming a teacher. I believe that the Performing Arts are an essential part of the education of a child, with many lasting benefits in the development of a person, some of which we are only just now, as a society and educationalists , becoming aware of.In my spare time, I enjoy being with family and friends, and appreciating both the performing and visual arts. The upcoming Auckland Festival of the Arts is something I am eagerly awaiting. I also have a strong interest in animal welfare, and the environment, and am a supporter of organisations related to these.
